Fashion and sewing workshop for Ukrainian participants

From 15 to 21 June 2026, FarmLab will host a fashion and sewing workshop in collaboration with DesignLab Miami and Caritas Bad Gleichenberg. The programme is offered free of charge and is open to Ukrainian women, teenagers and children currently based in the region.

The workshop introduces participants to the basics of sewing, garment design and upcycling, combining practical skills with an open, collaborative learning environment. No prior experience is required. Over the course of the week, participants will develop their own pieces, working with provided materials, tools and sewing machines.

The programme will take place between Caritas Bad Gleichenberg and FarmLab Kapfenstein, creating a shared space for learning, exchange and making. The week will conclude with a community fashion show, where participants will present the garments they have created.

This initiative builds on FarmLab’s ongoing work at the intersection of craft, sustainability and social engagement, and reflects a broader effort to create accessible formats where making becomes a tool for connection and expression.

The workshop is supported by DLG and developed in collaboration with local and international partners, including DesignLab Miami, Vintage Willa Shop and Caritas.
